My core counseling approach utilizes Prescriptive Play Therapy which means that I provide individualized counseling treatment based on a child's developmental level, mental/behavioral health, culture, race, personality/temperament, personal interests, and strengths/weaknesses. Play is the natural language of children which allows children to work through feelings at their developmental level. When we first begin, I will provide a thorough intake process, meet with you as caregivers, observe your child through several individual counseling sessions, and then develop a treatment plan with you as caregivers using different theories/interventions that are evidence based for each type of problem with which your child is struggling. Our treatment plan will seek to answer the question: which treatment will be most effective for your child with their specific needs, within their current environment, and how do we implement that treatment plan to best fit each child.
